Finding Freedom in Christ

Spring 2010

"Have you ever asked yourself what changed when you were "born again"? You look in the mirror and see the same reflection - your body hasn't changed. You find yourself acting the same and yielding to those same old temptations - that didn't seem to change either. So you wonder, Has anything really changed?"  The correct answer to that question is foundational for receiving from God. If you lack this basic understanding, you'll forever ask yourself doubt-filled questions like: "How could God love somebody like me?" and "How can I possibly expect to receive anything from the Lord? I don't deserve it, I'm not good enough!"

 Bible College

Bible College at FCC began in the Fall of 2009 for approximately 35 students.  The first class offered was Intro to the Bible taught by Pastor Gary Kolstad.  Students who complete this course will earn credits toward an Associates Degree.  Future classes offered will be either 10 or 13 weeks in duration.  More information about Bible College will be coming soon, or if you have questions about enrolling, please contact the church.

Spring 2010
Spirt, Soul and Body

Spirit, Soul & Body by Andrew Wommack is underway.  The book and companion study guide are being used during the 13 week class.  You can still register, but if you are unable to attend, CD's and DVD's of the class will be made available.  Please contact the church for information on how to get a copy.

Fall 2009
Intro to the Bible

The sacred book known as the Holy Bible is accepted by the church as uniquely inspired by God, and thus authoritative; providing guidelines for belief and behavior.

The Bible contains two major sections know as the Old Testament and the New Testament.  The Old Testament tells of the preparation that was made for Christ's coming.  His life and ministry, and the growth of the early church.  The English word testament normally refers to a person's Will, the document wich bequeaths property to those who are to inherit it after the owners death.  But the meaning of testament from both the Hebrew and Greek languages is settlement, treaty or covenant.  Of these three English words, covenant best captures the meaning of the word testament.  Thus the two collections that make up the Bible can best be described as the books of the Old Covenant and those of the New Covenant.

Some questions for thought:

  • Is the Bible true?
  • Does the Bible contradict itself?
  • Is the Bible relevant?
  • How can we understand the Bible?
  • Can we trust our English translations of the Bible?
